Description
Carbonate Hardness Reef Additive
Aquaforest KH Buffer is used for maintaining constant carbonate hardness levels in Reef Aquariums. Alkalinity is an essential part of calcification and coral growth. Corals skeletons are dependent on having ample calcium and alkalinity in the water for corals to absorb and convert into a calcium carbonate structure. Dry alkalinity additives are very cost effective and when mixed into a solution can be just as good or better than liquid additives.
Instructions
100 ml of KH Buffer solution raises KH level in 100 l of water by 2,6 dKH. To make a solution add 80g of Aquaforest Dry KH Buffer to 1000 mL of RODI water. Stir vigorously and then let it sit for 24 hours before use. It is highly recommended to add Alkalinity solution slowly to a high flow area of the tank to help reduce any precipitation. Not recommend raising KH level by more than 0,5 dKH per day.
It is suggested to start with a dose of 5mL per 27 gallons of aquarium water daily. After each dose, test your aquarium’s Alkalinity level and adjust dosage as necessary for your systems requirements.
