Description
Ecosystem Aquarium Miracle Mud is the original refugium mud substrate developed by Leng Sy in late 1989.
Miracle Mud is a product that has been carefully formulated to include all of the essential trace elements necessary to maintain a successful marine aquarium.
Miracle Mud continually replenishes your aquariums concentration of trace elements and minerals to create a stable environment.
Miracle Mud is comprised of 80% oceanic mud, harvested from deep ocean water, and then dried on land. The remaining 20% is a formulation of minerals and trace elements.
- 5lb jar size.
- Miracle Mud continuously replenishes the mineral and trace element concentration in the marine aquarium, making this the most comprehensive filter medium available.
- Miracle Mud is the most efficient denitrifying filter medium for the money. While other comparable products require a minimum 6-inch deep sand bed for denitrification to occur, you will need only 1-1.5 inches of Miracle Mud, making it the least expensive filtration medium available today.
- Miracle Mud has been shown to reverse hole in the head disease, and lateral line erosion (HLLE) in tropical marine fishes.
- Miracle Mud helps maintain the vibrant coloration of corals, invertebrates, and fishes in marine and reef aquariums.
- Miracle Mud releases 70+ major, and minor, essential elements to help stabilize your aquarium water chemistry;
- Miracle Mud promotes phytoplankton (green singular cell algae) growth in the system naturally.
- The combination of phytoplankton growth and the stabilization of water chemistry lead to the growth of zooplankton in the system (tank and filter).
- Miracle Mud provides essential elements for Caulerpa, Chaetomorpha, Halimeda, and various other macroalgaes to grow well. With regular trimming this helps with exporting nitrate and phosphate as macroalgaes use these nutrients to build their biomass.
- It is recommended to replace 50% of your Miracle Mud per year.
- Flow rates of 15-20 times per hour turnover are advised in the refugium/ filtration compartment.
- 1- 10lb bag is recommended per approximate 24″x10″ refugium/ filtration compartment. This should provide a 1-1.5″ layer.
