The pieces are formed from crystal clear borosilicate glass, the same material used to make high end lab equipment. Japanese glass craftsmen carefully hand finish each VIV part to the highest standards with smooth edges and attention to the smallest details.

VIV’s Orchid inflows create a suitable water flow for the Iwagumi style aquascape and when keeping fish in an aquatic plant layout that prefer a moderate water flow, such as cyprinids and characins. The Iwagumi term itself comes from the Japanese term ‘rock formation’ and refers to a layout where stones play the lead role. Rocks provide the structure of the aquascape. The traditional geography is a design made of three main stones: one large headstone and two small others.

Orchid inflow will help achieve this style aquarium. Depending on its placement, the inflow pipe supplies aeration and its narrow outlet provides a slightly downward water stream.

The pipe diameter is 13 mm or 1/2″ and is best used in 12-36” aquariums.
